overview

South Korea, an East Asian nation on the southern half of the Korean Peninsula is a country where the clash of tradition and modernity couldn’t be more interrelated. South Korea, namely Seoul, has caught the world’s attention. Creativity, in short, is boiling over in what is now one of the world’s hottest “It” cities. It is shining bright in the limelight on the global stage while boasting advanced digital technology and cultural content – from K-pop and K-cinema to K-food. Jeju Island is located along the Southern coast of South Korea, a popular tourist destination full of museums, adventure spots, and unexplored territories. There is probably no other country this fascinating, a place where millennia-old tombs, pagodas, and temples, meet a technology-driven, future-oriented nation.

Our remarkable Transformer, Daniel Thomas Faller, and Dominik Baur have designed a ten-day (there’s the option to extend by four days) photographic experience that challenges the ordinary view. We all have something we love to shoot, be it animals, portraits, nature, or street photography. But an essential part of growing as a person is stepping outside your comfort zone. A workshop like this is great way to dive deeper into your niche and learn new skills, or fine-tune those you already have during this overflowing itinerary, that brings you to some of the most amazing locations on the South Korean peninsula.

You will explore Seoul with its modern and vibrant Gangnam district and get exclusive behind-the-scenes insights into the demilitarized zone along the border with North Korea. Listen to the evocative prayer of the monks, who loudly express their connection with nature using drums and bells. Allow going fast and slow. If you choose to add on the four-day extended experience, the crystal blue seas, amazing cafés, and mountains of Jeju Island will ensure that you leave feeling refreshed and ready to put your new skills to work.

This trip is suitable for both amateurs as well as seasoned photography lovers. The workshop will increase participants’ visual awareness and will teach them to intuitively use the eye of the camera.
