overview

Minnesota is a midwestern state in the US, bordering Canada and Lake Superior, the largest of the Great Lakes. It is renowned for its breathtaking scenery, magnificent forests, beautiful prairieland and sparkling blue lakes dotted around the state. Dakota Indians first named this land “minisota,” meaning “land of sky-tinted water,” when they settled there more than three centuries ago. The Root River flows for 80 miles through southeastern Minnesota and is a tributary of the Upper Mississippi River.

As we go through life, we are occasionally confronted with situations or sentiments that leave us feeling uncertain about the route ahead. In such moods, we may feel immobilised or bewildered about how to negotiate these sometimes depressing, tough, demanding, and abrupt life moments. This programme is designed to help you to navigate these choppy waters.

This three day trip with our Remarkable Transformer, Andrew Boddicker and life transformation coach, Becky Prater will lead you on a walking journey through your life, hopes, anxieties, and objectives. The guided walk along the Root River trail is designed to assist you to navigate the next steps in your life journey. Your time on this walk will provide you with increased clarity and a feeling of purpose through daily coaching sessions, natural connections, meditations, and group discussions.

Included are two 60-minute virtual pre-walk sessions with Becky and Andrew where you will be asked insightful questions and provided with short meditations to help you pinpoint blockage points so your time together in person will have an even greater impact. With each stage of this trip, you will progress further into comprehension and clarity. You will walk it out and explore a reconnection to yourself in a supportive, inspiring, and revitalising atmosphere aimed to point you on the right path for your next steps.

You will have a choice of two accommodation options. The first is a bed in the specially made Bunk Bus – each bunk area has a narrow twin spring mattress, outlet, light, and privacy curtain. Or there are private tents that can accommodate one, two, or four people. They are furnished with a bed(s), electricity, a light, fan, and stool and are taken down and set up each night at an additional cost.

Throughout the three days, food is catered, made fresh, or you will have a meal at a local restaurant.

The walking route weaves over the Root River, through valleys, quaint towns, and along bluffs, and much of it is shaded by large trees, providing excellent protection on hot summer days. Distances will vary each day and can range from five to 13 miles. The majority of the trail is a converted railway and as such, is more or less level for the majority of the time. Two short portions of the trail have some steep inclines and the entire distance is paved allowing for safe, unobstructed walking.

Daily Session Descriptions
Day 1
Know Thyself
Who am I? What makes me unique? Where have I been? These questions help us understand where we have been, where we are, and where we want to go. In planning your next steps, we won’t play the blame game, rather we will understand what has led us to be the person we are today.
Day 2
Heal Thyself
This is our day for meditation and RIM sessions. Participants are guided through a meditation(s) to help understand our many selves and help heal the past without judging it. I will also do an hour-RIM session for each participant to help release limiting beliefs and stuck energy.
Day 3
Define the Future
Like setting GPS coordinates in our phone, it is essential that we define where we want to go in life by clearly defining what “awesome” looks like. Then, rather than letting life happen to us, we build a target and aim for it with gusto and determination. The Universe meets us halfway. We will spend time defining what we want and then make an action plan to begin the process.

“My expectations were exceeded. I've done "retreats" before and didn't get anything out of them. This experience really helped me understand myself.”

"The Walking Space experience is 'life shifting' creating an opportunity for connection, clarity, and self growth."
Deborah
“My Walking Space event exceeded my expectations. I loved every piece of it, and found a deep feeling of gratitude and appreciation for walking 27 miles (partial solitude) in nature. I found the most 'life shifting' insight while walking alone, journaling, connecting with those who were also called to join.”
