Mongolia is a country bordered by China and Russia, known for vast, rugged expanses and for being one of the last few places on the planet where nomadic life is still a living tradition.

Join Zephyr Wildman for an unforgettable yoga retreat where you will experience two contrasting locations in this remote and remarkable country – The expansive Gobi Desert with its huge skies, powerful sunsets and friendly camels and the Khan Khentii wilderness where the Upper Tuul River meanders gently through the vast meadows of wildflowers, surrounded by endless forested hills.

Zephyr teaches a dynamic flow style of yoga, combining elements of creative movement with a focus on alignment and kinesiology. Her classes integrate psychology, yogic philosophy and transformative teachings to help you cultivate a mindful awareness during your practice.

You will travel to the first luxury yurt camp in the Gobi on the Trans Mongolian night train and arrive in time for a dawn breakfast. With daily yoga, dawn hikes and camel treks, this location is an other-worldly and unique retreat location. An afternoon and evening exploring an ancient Buddhist site deep in the desert, watching sunset from high rocks and a campfire dinner adds an extra adventure to your Gobi experience.

Following this, you will move on, by jeep, to the second retreat camp in the Khan Kentii for four nights, where our Remarkable Transformer, Jools Sampson, says is possibly one of the most beautiful places she has ever been! Days here will be spent hiking or riding horses in the wilderness with local herders, as well as rafting and kayaking on the river.

You will travel with our own massage therapist, who will be offering sports massage to help with any aches and pains. Blissful time in our riverside yurt sauna is an experienced not to be missed and once you have heated your body, you can run outside and jump into the very refreshing river to cool down. A top Mongolian revitalising experience.

Your meals will be created by Chef Bettina Campolucci Bordi and her expert Mongolian team. You’ll be served a tasty plant-based/vegetarian menu with some ingredients foraged in the Gobi, hand picked berries from the Khan Kentii forests and nutrient packed tinctures.

This retreat is for the adventurous yogi traveller. You will need to be fit, healthy and resilient as it’s a very remote and wild environment. We are off the grid and there is no phone reception and hardly any people – just incredible nature and you!
