Human–animal–environment connection for wellbeing

Meet Jess.

Jess Brainch works at the meeting point of people, animals, and landscape. Her work reminds us that human well-being does not exist in isolation. It lives within a wider ecosystem.

An internationally accredited Psychologist and founder of Find Your Wild, Jess has spent more than twenty years guiding individuals and groups through experiences that explore the relationship between the human condition and the environments we inhabit. Raised in Kenya and working globally, she brings both scientific rigour and deep respect for the natural world to her work.

Her philosophy is simple yet powerful. Humans are not separate from nature. We are part of it.

Through Find Your Wild, Jess creates carefully designed journeys that place people within living ecosystems where connection unfolds across multiple layers. Participants engage not only with themselves, but also with one another, with animals, and with the landscapes that sustain life. Desert, savannah, forest, and water environments all become part of the experience.

Jess’s approach draws from formal Psychology training alongside Somatic Experiencing, equine-assisted therapy, Internal Arts, Ayurveda, and wilderness-based therapeutic practice. Her work is grounded in evidence while remaining deeply attentive to the realities of human life.

Many of the people who seek Jess out are navigating demanding leadership roles, personal transitions, health challenges, or periods of uncertainty. What they often discover is not a quick intervention, but a thoughtful process that unfolds over time.

Intentional preparation and integration form the backbone of every experience. Jess works closely with participants before and after each journey, helping ensure that what unfolds in remote landscapes can be meaningfully carried into everyday life.

The environments she chooses are rarely accidental. Remote and wild spaces provide the conditions for a different kind of attention. In these landscapes, people experience themselves in relation to the wider living world, often alongside animals such as horses, camels, or donkeys and in collaboration with local communities.

Jess’s work is informed not only by professional training but also by lived experience. Having navigated cancer and a serious spinal injury, she brings a depth of empathy and patience that clients value deeply. Her presence is steady, thoughtful, and quietly powerful.

Professionally, she is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, an HCPC-Registered Practitioner, a Full Member of the Counsellors and Psychologists Board in Kenya, and a member of the Kenya Psychological Association.

Her work offers a rare opportunity to explore the deeper relationships between self, others, animals, and the natural world.
