Meet Lisa.
In a world where wellness is often added on, Lisa Caruso builds it in from the very beginning.
As Founder and Chief Joy Officer of JoyWelle, Lisa has spent more than twenty-five years shaping how luxury hospitality and wellbeing come together in a way that feels both meaningful and commercially smart. Long before wellness became a global trend, she was asking a simple but powerful question. What if how we feel became central to how we travel?
That question has guided her ever since.
Lisa’s career began in public relations and brand communications within the luxury travel space, working with some of the most respected names in the industry. Over time, she saw an opportunity. Guests were not just looking for beautiful hotels or seamless service. They were looking for something deeper. Space to feel better, think clearly, and return home changed in ways that last.
She acted on it early.
One of her first defining moments was creating an immersive, holistic health weekend at a leading South Florida resort. At the time, this kind of programming was far from mainstream. It marked the beginning of a new way of thinking about hospitality. Not as an escape, but as an experience that supports how people live.
Since then, Lisa has partnered with global brands including Mandarin Oriental, Dorchester Collection, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, Atlantis Paradise Island, Abercrombie and Kent, and Marriott International. Her work spans in-suite wellness concepts, destination retreats, employee wellbeing programmes, and high-level brand strategy.
What sets Lisa apart is her ability to balance two worlds that rarely meet well. Commercial performance and genuine care.
She listens closely, understands the brand, the market, and the guest, and then builds experiences that feel both aligned and impactful. Nothing feels forced. Nothing feels superficial. The result is programming that enhances brand positioning while delivering real value to those who experience it.
Alongside her consulting work, Lisa is also a trained practitioner of the healing arts. She works privately with individuals and leads retreats, workshops, and keynote sessions focused on personal growth, visibility, and purposeful leadership. Her presence is warm, intelligent, and quietly energising.
She also plays an active role in shaping the wider industry. Lisa is the U.S. Ambassador for Global Wellness Day and contributes to the Standards Advisory Committee for Wellness in Travel and Tourism, as well as the Wellness Tourism Association. Her collaborations extend to brands such as Organic Spa Magazine, Lululemon, Athleta, and Christian Dior.
At the heart of her work is a belief that feels both simple and radical. Joy matters. Not as a luxury, but as something essential to how we live, lead, and experience the world.
At We Love Transformational Travel, we look for people who are shaping the future of travel with intention and integrity. Lisa is one of those people. For Seekers and brands alike, her work offers a thoughtful, intelligent approach to wellbeing that stands the test of time.
